Aldeburgh once a popular Victorian costal holiday resort, is now renowned as the holiday retreat of choice for numerous families, musicians and artists looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The Aldeburgh Carnival held annually in August runs over a weekend of celebrations and culminates in a lantern procession and fire work display on the Monday evening.

Southwold is only 15 miles away a very popular destination for visitors to this area. Often seen as the town that time forgot with its iconic beach huts, lighthouse and historic pier.

Snape is located on the estuary of the river Alde. One of the main tourist attractions in Snape is Snape Maltings and the famous concert hall developed by Benjamin Britten, which hosts the annual Aldeburgh music festival. Snape Maltings is also home to numerous shops, 2 cafes, a gallery and the Plough and Sail inn.

Thorpeness is a coastal holiday resort originally developed by Captain Ogilvie for family and friends to visit and stay during the summer holidays. Thorpeness is best characterised by its pretty Tudor inspired black and white holiday cottages and the distinctive 'House in the clouds' which can be seen from miles around. Thorpeness also features a large Meare where you can hire canoes, rowing boats or a small sail boat and meander around the meare, stopping off at the little islands which feature a Peter Pan theme, including Wendys' House and Captin Hooks castle .
